A Glimpse into the History of Interior Design ISI Yogyakarta
The Interior Design Study Program at Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta has a long history that began in the 1970s. In 1978, the Department of Decoration changed its name to DIRUDA (Indoor Design) Department, which later became the forerunner of the Interior Design Study Program. In 1984, STSRI ASRI (Indonesian College of Fine Arts) merged with ASTI and AMI to form ISI Yogyakarta. In this process, the DIRUDA Department was transformed into the S-1 Interior Design Study Program under the Department of Design, Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta. Since then, the Interior Design Study Program has continued to grow and focuses on designing spaces in residential and public buildings, such as houses, hotels, restaurants, shops, offices, and museums. This program integrates functional and aesthetic aspects, and considers technological developments and local wisdom in the design process. In the course of its history, ISI Yogyakarta's Interior Design Study Program has achieved various achievements, both at the national and international levels. Some of these include first place in the 2004 Indonesian Design Competition in the furniture category, first place in the 2005 HomeCientro Interior Design Competition, and first place in the 2006 Jepara Furniture Design Awards. ga June 27, 2027.
