National Seminar
PSDI News, (December 16, 2006) National Seminar, entitled, â € œKearifan Local in order to design successful € Globalâ Facing Competition held on Saturday, December 16, 2006, at the Museum Ullen Sentalu, Kaliurang. Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Anom Wibisono, S.Sn., said that the event was held thanks to the synergistic cooperation between the PSDI HDII ISI Yogyakarta (Indonesian Society of Interior Designers) Yogyakarta Branch.
This seminar presents some of the speakers, namely Ir. Wiendu Nuryanti, M. Arch., PhD. (UGM), Farida Alaydroes, BFA., HDII (HDII Center), Drs. Saharuddin Nur (Practitioner of Interior Design), Moch. Reffrajaya, HDII (BSA-HDII Center), Lea A. Aziz, BFA, HDII (HDII Center). In the seminar, present Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Drs. Suprapto Sudjono, MFA, Ph.D.., Who gave a speech earlier at the same time opening the National Seminar. Participants of the seminar not only among educators (ITB, UK Petra Surabaya, UNS, IKJ, ISI Yogyakarta, UTY, and UAJY) but also among practitioners (HDII Center, HDII Jakarta, Bandung HDII, HDII Yogyakarta, Surakarta HDII). The seminar concluded that somehow the nation in order to enhance competitiveness in the era of globalization, local cultural values still need to be empowered and developed through the design world to follow design trends
